Driving out to Uluru you can see the Olgas or Kata Tjuta as it is now known in the distance. Even from 30km away they look stunning.  It’s about a 30 minute drive out to the Olgas from the campground.  On arrival we decided to do the Valley of the winds walk, which is a 7.4km difficult walk. As my feet had not recovered (lots of blisters !!! OUCH !!) from the big walk yesterday around the base of Uluru we decided to do the 1.6km walk (which ended up being about 4km by the time you get back to the car park. It is quite a rocky and steep walk but definitely worth the walk once you get to the top.  The sheer rock faces are absolutely stunning and you cant help but admire there beauty as every one is different.  The walk also takes in a lot of different flora, which we were lucky enough to see in flower and also a few friendly goannas and lots of little birds.  It took us about 2 hours to complete this walk but you definitely need to take your time.

We then went and did the Walpa Gorge walk which is only about a 2.5km walk but not a difficult walk.  You are surrounded by two very shear rock faces with a creek running through the centre, but the scenery is stunning.

OMG I can’t get enough of the absolutely stunning Sunsets over Uluru, the colours are just amazing and its something that everyone should experience.  The sunrises are amazing too but my personal favourite was the sunsets as you can see by my photos below 🙂

Next stop Kings Canyon 🙂
