June 2020

So finally after a 3 month lockdown due to Covid we can finally start moving around our beautiful state.

We decided to do a couple of weeks in the Flinders Ranges.  First stop Wilmington on the doorstep of the Mt Remarkable National Park – Alligator Gorge.  What a stunning place to visit.  We did the walk from down the steps in the car park along the gorge, a beautiful walk of about 5 km.  Spectacular scenery around every bend.

After a couple of nights in Wilmington we travelled to Quorn to Argadells station for a few nights.  This is a station that offers the option of bush camping or staying in there caravan park.  We opted for the caravan park but we have also done the bush camping in the past.  The scenery is stunning throughout the station, around every corner and over every mountain.  The highest point in the Southern Flinders Ranges – Mt Arden in located within Argadells, which can be accessed by 4wd.  The view from here amazing as you can see right back down to the gulf (Pt Augusta).  Unfortunately while we here every time we drove up there the fog blocked our view. There is plenty of 4wd tracks to do and walks around the station.  Truly an amazing place to spend a few days.

We then went to Rawnsley Park Station for a few days bush camping with the kids. Lots of 4wd tracks and walks to do around the area.  We enjoyed our time here over the long weekend.  Nothing beats sitting around a camp fire !!!
